At 6:30 a.m. on a Saturday I was on my way from the Twin Cities (MN) to Omaha, NE I hit a deer just north of Ames. My car was inoperable. I asked the tow truck driver to take me to a nearby body shop per the request of my insurance company. He said Shaffer's was the place to go. So, we went. I arrived shortly before 9 a.m. They opened promptly at 9. I went in, noticing how clean and welcoming the atmosphere was, explained my situation. I had been unsure if my insurance company would allow me to tow it home to be repaired, total it, or allow Shaffer's to repair it. Zach instructed me to pull it in the shop and get an estimate for insurance. I felt that was a good idea. When I pulled it into the shop, I noticed how clean and organized the shop was as well. Zach took time to let me know their process for working with insurance and getting me back into my car as quickly as possible. I felt comfortable leaving my car with them. So, I walked across the street, went to Enterprise, and rented a car and continued on my way. My insurance company was pleased with the fact that I was comfortable having my car repaired in Ames, avoiding an expensive tow back to MN. Zach was great about keeping me posted on the progress of my car. Showing pictures, detailed estimates, etc. Exactly 1 month after hitting the deer, my car was ready for delivery. I drove down, arriving at 9 a.m. to collect my car. The repairs were seamless. You can't tell that anything had ever been damaged. Zach, who was supposed to be off that day, came in specifically to walk me through the repairs and ensure my happiness with the job. I cannot say enough about this shop. I highly recommend them.
