Austin Anderson, Estimator
As an Estimator at Shaffer’s Auto Body, Austin Anderson manages the repair process from beginning to end. He starts with discussing what happened and going over your vehicle’s damage, then coordinates with insurance companies, answers your questions and concerns, and keeps you informed. He walks your vehicle through every step of the repair until you’re back on the road.
Born and raised in Lehigh, Iowa, Austin grew up in and around the implement shop that his grandfather started in the 1950s. His first job was sweeping the floors when he was in third grade. He always enjoyed working with his hands, and the opportunity to restore vehicles to looking like new drew him to collision repair. He earned associates degrees in Auto Collision from Iowa Central Community College and Business from Des Moines Area Community College.
Austin started at Shaffer’s Auto Body in 2010, working in the shop as a Low Technician, Combo Technician, and then Body Technician, and he is a certified I-CAR Platinum welder and I-Car Platinum non-structural technician. After eight years in the shop, he moved into his current role as an Estimator, although he still does body work from time to time.
Austin lives north of Boone, Iowa, and enjoys water sports, snowboarding, tinkering with cars, and tractor pulling. You’ll often find him doing projects like woodworking and making epoxy countertops.

Auston Elliott, Estimator
As an Estimator at Shaffer’s Auto Body, Auston Elliott primarily serves our customers who are paying out of pocket rather than using insurance for their repairs. Patient and personable, he works to find a custom solution right for each unique situation. He will listen to you and evaluate your vehicle, answer questions and concerns, and manage the repair process from the initial estimate to parts and paint until you’re back on the road. He keeps you informed of any changes and waits for your approval to proceed with any repairs that could change the price from the initial estimate.
Auston grew up in Ogden, Iowa, where he graduated from Ogden High School, and is now near completing a degree in Business Management.
He has always loved to listen to people tell their stories, especially car stories. He’s interested in people’s passion for their vehicles, whether old or new, trucks, fast cars or luxury vehicles.
Auston started in the automotive world as a Detailer at Pat Clemmons, a car dealership in Boone, Iowa, and started as a Detailer at Shaffer’s Auto Body in 2016. He found detailing rewarding because he was able to make sure every job was completed as perfectly as possible, a “job well done.” He carries this same passion for a “job well done” into his current role as an Estimator.
Auston currently lives in Ames, Iowa. He enjoys camping, ball games and events, going to the gym, spending time with his two younger siblings and parents, and walking the family dogs.
